It was our first Ethiopian restaurant experience. We got the vegetarian sampler with fish, plus beef tibs and lamb curry, also bee'dvine honey wine. We thought everything was delicious! Food wasn't overly spicy hot, which was good as I'm a little sensitive to spicy hot stuff. Kids were able to eat most dishes without complaint. Kids especially liked the fish. We actually ordered a second one. Friend who was with us was slightly disappointed with the beef tibs as he has had them in other Ethiopian restaurants and it was usually prepared differently. I also particularly enjoyed the wine. It was very smooth and sweet, but not too sweet. Staff were friendly, interacted with my 5-year old and answered questions about Ethiopian decor as well as wrote kids names in Ethiopian letters. With regards to kid friendliness in service, they had high chairs but not plastic cups. Individual eating plates were melamine, so that was a non-issue. Location was convenient too. Only a few blocks from Union s
Ethiopic is by far one of the best Ethiopian Restaurant in DC. The order process is 100 % digital so don’t forget your phone. For vegetarians is a lot to eat here and my Kids also had a lot of fun to try every different flavour. I would recommend to eat one vegetarian platter for three people.
Ethiopic not only gives you an amazing experience with the Ethiopian food but also displays the culture really well. I enjoyed my dine in experience at Ethiopic a lot. The food was absolutely amazing. I order the beef tibs and they were delightful. Everything from the spices and the balance of flavors was on point. Ethiopian food is close to home for me so it is always a pleasure to experience it. 5/5 for Ethiopic
