A nice place for lunch, obviously a popular stop for politicians for it's location alone. They make a nice burger and the crab-cake was quite good. The service was very nice, prompt and friendly. The ambiance was that of a place to see and be seen with the walls covered with photos of former patrons.
Service was average at best and my Filet was well done albeit ordered medium! I asked for more bread and had to ask twice to get it. Finally, getting a second cup of coffee was an act of congress! Average at best experience! If your looking for an upscale experience - this isn’t it!
We chose The Monocle for our anniversary night out. The food was amazing, but the service was truly stellar. If you're looking for a great dining experience in a low key traditional ambience, do yourself a favor and make your reservation.
