Coal Mine Dragon Chinese

This was a child hood restaurant my mom took me to for many years. The family was amazing, the staff was always very friendly, last month my mother told me how horrible the food was and said she would never go back. However I’m one to give places another chance. NEVER AGAIN! The owner is RUDE AND NASTY. The waitress was very rude. The food well I won’t waste your time on it. Jist NO, over cooked and nasty. Saddens me this was my favorite place and now the new owners have ruined it.

Overall a pretty meh experience. Won ton soup was good and egg drop soup was OK, if a bit gelatinous. It was the main courses that fell flat. Sesame chicken was the best, though nothing to write home about. Chicken itself was fine and while pretty heavily breaded, it was nicely crispy. Sauce flavor was good. In many restaurants sesame chicken comes with steamed broccoli, but not here. Overall a 3.5. Orange shrimp was OK, but nothing special. Plus is that the shrimp were nicely cooked, negative is that the scant veggies were undercooked and hard. Despite a LOT of orange wedges, the sauce flavor wàsn't all that "orangey." I think the problem may have been the amount of peel left a somewhat bitter flavor. Overall, a 3. The real loser was the orange beef, which was tough as shoe leather and only a bit more flavorful. Ordered the wonton soup and beef stripes with mushroom and bamboo shoots and the soup was alright but the wontons were mostly wrapper and it was tough and for the beef very little flavor and slightly chewy and the mushrooms had me gagging and wanting to throw up some parts were weirdly cold the fried rice had zero seasoning ultimately it was disgusting and I know I'm never go back and would hope no one has to taste what I tasted please go somewhere else because it is just as expensive as somewhere with actually good tasting food.
