ZINC New Haven

I ordered the pork chop and a slice of the chocolate cake I strongly disliked both. The pork was extremely dry, the figs were sweet enough to off balance (figs usually are - these weren't), and the veggies weren't very flavorful. The trifecta of a ruined pork chop The cake had some weird jam/layer that ruined the flavor entirely. Would not recommend. Will not return. I regret not getting a few small plates - duck nachos especially - since there are rave reviews I gave them 2 stars because the staff was polite

Had dinner here this evening. It was most likely the worst meal and overall dining experience I’ve ever had. Our server barely spoke to us. He gave us no information about the menu or anything the restaurant may have been featuring tonight. Our drinks were never offered to be refilled. The buss person took the remainder of our appetizer away without even asking if we cared to finish it. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. My tuna was ok but my wife’s Salmon was cooked to the consistency of a dry piece of lumber. Once we finished eating we sat at our table for a considerable amount of time before we finally asked the buss person to kindly bring us the check. Neither our waiter or any other employee of the restaurant checked on us once throughout our meal or afterwards to make sure it was to our liking. Finally, our waiter passed by our table only to literally throw the desert menu at us and continue moving on. Rest assured, we will never find ourselves at Zinc again. I would strong

It’s not often that we leave a restaurant and feel compelled to write a review, especially a positive one, but we had an amazing experience at ZINC. We were not only satisfied, but we walked away beyond impressed with everything. From the quality and ingenuity of the food itself to the quality of the service we received, everything was fantastic. The waitstaff was not only extremely kind, but they anticipated our every need and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of, all without being asked. From top to bottom, the meal itself was also phenomenal. Every dish was both incredibly creative and tasted amazing. Truly a must-dine if you’re in the area. Like I said—impressed.
