The Vault Smokehouse

I am at a loss for words on this place… We decided to try this place since it was next to the Meat Church BBQ Supply store in downtown. I was expecting maybe they would use some of the seasoning from Meat Church but man was I wrong. The prices were a bit steep for the amount of food we received. I tried the two (2) meat plate with two (2) sides. I had the ribs which were baby back and the regular sausage. My sides were the Mac & Cheese and the Cole Slaw. I did not feel the ribs were rubbed with anything and they were saved by the sweet barbecue sauce. The sausage did not have any snap to it and was also saved by the barbecue sauce. The Mac & Cheese was very bland and needed some salt and pepper. My son had the brisket and it was okay but not great. All in all I am hoping it was just a bad week and a different cook from the usual. For me this experience was not great and could even say “The Vault Smokehouse” needs a menu overhaul.

I know what you’re going to say. “How could you give this place five stars by ordering a sandwich?” It’s all they had but it was enough to convince me how much of the real deal this place is. What’s not shown are the ribs we had and let me tell you, these ribs should never touch their bbq sauce. They are so good and not baby food like more places make them. Definitely try it if you’re in town. Get a bucket of the potato salad while you’re at it and thank me later

First time visiting and I was impressed by the vibe. Love the decor. Smells wonderful inside. Despite being busy the wait was relatively short. Customer service was really good. They even had a little board to apologize and advise of unavailable items. Nice touch. The brisket and ribs were really good. I ate both without the bbq sauce. I ordered pinto beans since baked beans aren't a menu item. The potato salad had a strong dill taste. The fountain drinks were pretty good. I would rate 5 for the experience and customer service. The meats were both very good. I wasn't overly impressed with the sides. I will try them again because of the experience, fair prices and excellent customer service. They support First Responders and Veterans.
