The Shake Shop

The second best place in the Pleasant Hills/Jefferson Hills area to get a milkshake, but is open year round unlike Al’s Cone Zone (open from March-September). They have a large and varied selection of shakes for order. The shop is attached to the Italian Village Pizza next door and you have to enter through the pizza joint. This is a bright and colorful place perfect for bringing the kids or for a casual desert stop with the significant other. My only gripe is that the shakes are little too thin for my liking (I want my shakes thick!). ***Pro tip*** Avoid this place like the plague on a weekday from 3-4 PM. Apparently, it’s hangout central for the nearby Pleasant Hills Middle School students who congregate in a large, boisterous, and often obnoxious, mass in front of the venue. The shakes pictured below are the Caramel Nut with caramel ribbons and pecans blended with vanilla ice cream, Mint Oreo (FAV!!!), and Nutella Crunch (yum).

This place was extremely dirty. The floors had debris all over them, along with trash pushed in the corners under the booth. The restrooms were a disaster, no soap and floors disgusting. There was also the smell of spoiled milk in the store.
