The Original Mexican Restaurant

Just what you would expect in a Mexican food dive bar on the Riverwalk. Loved it! It was just what the doctor ordered afyer going through the new Alamo exhibit. Way too much good food bit the drinks were awesome, too.

Poor service. The food was disgusting. Normally I complain unfortunately I just didn't have the heart. My plate was the fajita plate. Which was around $22.00 plus tax. The waiter came to table once or twice the entire time. I believe in tipping. Although, the tip depends on the server. I start my tips at $50.00. If it remains at the $50.00 that depends on the server as I stated earlier. Server was tipped $9.00 which I believe was still a good amount. He took off two of the meals. My daughter complained about her food. My granddaughter's meal she didn't even touch it. I'll never go back. Just can't find good tex-Mex food. Along with the fact that the fajita plate didn't taste like fajita. My drink was pretty good. The food looked good. However, just because it looks good doesn't mean it is good food????

We had a great time at The Original Mexican Restaurant. The food was very good and the portions were overly generous. We were fortunate to get seated at a table on the river walk. The host let us know that they were short staffed, so be patient, which was good to know up front. That said, food came quickly and the staff did a wonderful job.
