Cafe Ole

After a long travel day a few friends and I strolled River Walk looking for food. We decided TexMex would be appropriate bring we were in San Antonio. Stumbled on Cafe Ole and the hostess, Diana convinced us to come in. We decided to eat inside as it was hot outside. Service was good. Food not as expected being it was TexMex in Texas. The atmosphere however made up for it and we had a good experience overall, serenaded by local musicians that provided a wonderfully brief performance.

TERRIBLE service ! I will NEVER be back w my family! As soon as we walked n and asked to be seated out on the deck, they told us “no, there’s no servers out there til noon “ but we watched the hostess go and talk to the server and ask if she wanted another table and she looked at us and shook her head “no” , so they sat us inside at the smallest table they could find that wouldn’t even fit all of our plates and cups. They then moved us to a dirty dark table n the corner and gave us a new waiter that just started This week. We sat at our new table and watched as 5/6 waiters and waitresses walked n and out of the patio area serving them even tho we were told there were none available. We ordered our drinks which were advertised on the menu, just for the waiter to come back and tell us they don’t even have the drinks, I asked for a substitute and he has to “see “ if he can do that.. our drinks didn’t come til way after the food already came and we already started eating. My Aunt and Uncle were coming into town, this was their first time in San Antonio. We went to Cafe Olé. All of our first time here. I wanted my Aunt and Uncle to see the River Walk and to get some Tex-Mex Cuisine. I ordered the Combination Numero Dos (One Chicken Enchilada, Crispy Chicken Taco, and a Chicken Chalupa.) My enchilada had salsa verde and it was AMAZING. I also loved my chalupa. Everyone was nice in Cafe Olé. Funny while I was eating my chalupa some of it fell on the floor. Our waiter came over and swept it up, I apologized and he said it was ok, he wasn’t mad at all.
