We ordered two pasta dishes, but feel like small plates and grills should have been the way to go as we had hoped for more meat. The atmosphere is nice, a bit smaller than we expected, but overall pleasant dining experience.
The food was absolutely five stars, these chefs clearly know what they're doing. A lot of the food was spicy, and there were several Latino inspired seasonings and even dishes, so it's a little bit more than a Japanese and Italian fusion restaurant (which is fantastic in my opinion). The small plates are where the real value is at, the pastas were great but personally I would stick with the small plates next time.
Combine Japanese & Italian in a fine dining experience, and you have Sanjusan. One main takeaway is the variety and quality of the food and drinks. We enjoyed a few cocktails, several small plates, 2 entrees, and two flatbreads. Check out the photos… I think the food makes me look like a good photographer :)
