The location is great. A few miles from the airport. The hotel is next to a busy road. It can get loud if the room is on the side facing the road. The housekeeping could be better. I requested housekeeping and the room was not made up. I had to go to the front desk to get fresh towels. The breakfast is adequate. The entrance and the exteriors have been updated but the rooms are a little dated.
I loved my room and this hotel. The front desk person was not the friendliest nor most welcoming but I had a great stay and would come again. The room deposit was pretty steep...$150! The desk person kept harping on about not having candles or incense even though I signed a form that I wouldnt use them in the room. I had no candles on me while traveling. She was annoying and grumpy but my room was satisfactory and the rest of the staff was helpful, pleasant and welcoming. They made up for the front desk grump. I would definitely stay again.
I was so excited to stay at this nostalgic hotel since I was a kid. The lobby and "promenade" style are so cool but unfortunately I will never book a room here again. We splurged for the Executive King Honeymoon Suite for the weekend. The mattress is so old and full of springs, it sinks to the middle and now I have a horrible low back ache and could barely sleep. What was supposed to be a fun relaxing weekend is now going home exhausted and in pain. For $400 I expected a nicer mattress. The room itself is alright, definitely outdated and needs more thorough cleaning. Our sheets have small rips in them, baseboards are all scuffed black and dirty. The shower is HUGE with not one shelf to place anything, so you have to keep holding a bar of soap and find a place to put it outside the bathroom. The rear door which we used since it was closest to our room has a broken key lock so anyone can enter the hotel at any time of the night through the back stairwell which makes it uncomfortable. V
