Salut is Edina has a nice variety of things on the menu. Everything we had was good but it was all a bit heavy. The hanger steak frites were cooked perfectly but I think the plate would have benefited from something fresh and lite as the garlic butter was pretty overpowering. The grilled octopus was cooked all the way through but wasn’t chewy which was nice. And the pomme frites tasted ok but the fry oil could have been hotter as they were a pretty greasy. Will give Salut another shot but will probably be more strategic about what we order.
We found this place by accident! Walking in the area, sounded interesting. I must say it was a delightful find. Great restaurant with a very french American flair with more French influence. Very prompt and friendly service and tasteful experience. Bravo
The food was great. The mussels were recommended by the server. The flavors were really light and lemony. The calamari was lightly breaded which I loved because it didn’t just taste like a fried appetizer. We also ordered the crab cake that is worth getting but definitely on the richer side. We ate out side and loved the patio area. It had a quaint romantic feel to it.
