Rok Sushi Kitchen

My hubby and I came here randomly and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was upbeat and chic, but not too fancy (we are at the beach after all!). The sushi was good (yellowtail sashimi was ????) and reasonably priced. There was a DJ too which made it even more fun. Sushi party? Sign me up!

Great chefs and amazing food. The mix of flavours and textures is simply breathtaking. The owner was very welcoming. The drinks did take some time to come out so we were offered the sake on the house which was a nice gesture. On the other side, the waiter clearly lacked experience. Did not remove the empty plates unless we asked, We felt rushed because he brought the bill before we were done or asked. This happened twice. I was also surprised to see the mandatory 20% gratuity is included in the bill. I asked and was told it was the usual practice for a party of 5 (we were 2 adults & 3 kids). It’s ok in the sense that I would have tipped anyways but I would have preferred having the choice.

Cool place to hang out right across from the pier. They have fancy drinks and sushi rolls that are kind of pricy but tasted delicious. You can get the edamame appetizer spicy or regular. A lot of their sushi rolls have some kind of heat in them, so it was kind of difficult for me to choose something non-spicy because I don't like too much heat. Ended up getting the Manhattan Roll, which was crispy shrimp, cucumber, avocado on the inside and tuna, yellowtail, salmon on the outside. The service is very nice and friendly, and it was a great environment to hang out at the high top tables and just chat and catch up until closing time on a Saturday night.
