This is a very special establishment. Don't miss this if you have the chance. Walking in there is a lot of spilled soda out front from a leaking trash can that was emptied. I pointed it out as I was ordering and the manager went outside himself and cleaned it. Now that is customer service at the highest level. He even came up to me in the restaurant afterwards and thanked me for pointing it out. Wow am I impressed. This is a classic '50s diner with great desserts and Good eats.
Double check your order they are dropping the ball. Been here many times with no problems. Tonight I ordered a double cheeseburger and paid for a double cheeseburger. As you can see from the photo there is no cheese. Very disappointed they where not even busy (so no excuses) and too quick getting food out without making sure it is correct.
Great decor and atmosphere. Was so excited that they opened a Portillo's near us, had heard of them for years and always wanted to try them. Food was somewhat disappointing, hot dogs were pretty good and had a crazy amount of snap to them. Would be better dine-in as it was a little soggy and cold during the drive home. Fries were good. The biggest disappointment was the Italian beef sandwich, it was dry and flavorless-literally no flavor. I bought a side of their special sauce and it didn't really add to it. The Au jus "gravy" I had them put on the side as soggy bread is the worst and would have been mush during the 12-15 minute drive home. The gravy was good to dip the fries in but still didn't make much difference with the sandwich other than making it a little greasy. Still no flavor.
