Portillo's Hot Dogs

We were passing through the state and needed to stop somewhere for lunch. The restaurant had a really cool old style diner atmosphere and decor and played oldies to go with it. 5 stars for decor. The woman who waited on us had zero personality and I think a smile would crack her face. I think she was the manager to boot. My daughter's sandwich was absent as was my iced tea. I went up and got them and took them to the table. I ordered the Chicago bowl based on "bowls" I had ordered at other food chains. The board menu lacked a description so I was shocked to open my container and see nothing but a pile of meat in a little juice. I took it up to the pickup area and the aforementioned lady was passing by. I said excuse me, but there's nothing but meat in this bowl. She responded by telling me that you have to ask if you want something on your meat. She offered a small container of either pickled hot peppers or regular peppers. I was really perplexed that this item existed on the menu. May

First time visiting Portillo's, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is nice with a lot of older memorabilia and advertisements throughout. I got the cheeseburger and expected it to be heavy on my gut. It really wasn't. I ate the burger, fries, a strawberry shortcake and didn't feel like I needed to sleep it off till tomorrow. I'm looking forward to bringing the entire family next time.
