Must Try Dishes
At Pollo Tropical in Altamonte Springs, Florida, you must try the signature dish; it's none other than their citrus-marinated Grilled Chicken. Couple it with a Classic TropiChop bowl for a blend of flavors. Their Caribbean Chicken Soup, filled with corn, yuca, pumpkin, and plantains, is a hearty meal you shouldn't miss. The Calypso Beef, a dish flavored with Caribbean seasonings, also deserves a taste. Lastly, save room for the delicious Guava Cheesecake or Pineapple Tres Leches for dessert.

The worst experience ever!! First off, I paid for a bowl of chicken soup and got a cup of the saltiest soup ever. I had to throw it away as I was not about to feed that to my one year old. The chicken was burnt, I thought I could just peel the skin off but my fingers were left with so much of the burnt skin it made the chicken taste burnt too. I thought ok , let me see how the rice and beans are. I opened the rice, taste good. Go to the beans, and immediately there’s tons of oil settling on the top and the beans were also salty! I will not be dining here again. And I will not recommend this location to anyone!!
This location has lost a lot of their quality. The past 2-3 times we have purchased chicken, it has been super dry. This is very unlike the usual for any Pollo Tropical location. To top it off, I paid $4.29 for an individual sized serving of fried plantains (very expensive compared to the actual cost of plantains) and they were absolutely burnt; they resembled charcoal. I’m going to have to be very hungry and craving Pollo to be able to come to this location again. So sad :(
It’s sad to say but I NEVER have a good experience here. Every time I come, my order ALWAYS, when I say always…I mean always gets messed up. Then when I call to try to speak with a manager no one ever answers the phone. So I always have to come back in person and complain! The first time was when I asked for no pickles on a Cuban sandwich also no pork & they gave me pork anyway and they gave me pickles. The second time was when I asked for no beans on a Tropi chop, they gave me beans and an extra side of beans in the bag? The list goes on and on. It’s an inconvenience to always have to waste gas and come back to this place to complain and ask for my order to be remade it’s really not that hard. Bad customer service. Hire new people. I don’t know what needs to be done but this is unacceptable!!!!
