Phat Turtle KC BBQ

When I got here, I was frustrated and very hungry. My day in downtown Phoenix did not go as I had planned, and I arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon with a grumbling belly, a foul temperament, and a thirst for beer. I walked in, sat at the bar, and started noticing Kansas City Chiefs decor. Uh oh. I came in wearing Raiders gear. Hopefully, the owners aren’t around. Kara was the bartender, and she was friendly and attentive. She got me a beer quickly, and a menu. I ended up getting a half rack of ribs, some baked beans with brisket chunks, and fried okra, one of my favorite things in the world. The food was prepared quickly, and served so hot I couldn’t even begin to eat it. The beans were sweet and hearty, and the small chunks of brisket were falling apart. The okra was piping hot, and weren’t over breaded. I was enjoying myself, but I hadn’t tried the ribs yet. Bad ribs can kill an otherwise good meal, and I was hesitant to try them and possibly ruin an otherwise good meal. My fears were

We walked and and right from the start the staff and owner was amazing and friendly! LORI was so attentive and helpful with describing the dishes!! There was so many great i options to choose from! So the owner came out with samples of the burnt ends ! OH ....MY..... GAWWWWDDDD..... We had 3 people in our party and we ended up doing the brisket grilled cheese sandwich which was amazing and full of flavor, the burnt ends plate with Mac n cheese and brisket baked beans... and let me say the burnt ends were SO JUICY AND MELTED IN MY MOUTH! Then the baked beans were to die for!!! Lastly, we ordered the fish n chips in standard Friday tradition and that was amazing as well! To top it all off we had a side of the two jumbo cornbreads and they were so moist and soft! I definitely would eat here 7 out of 7 days if the week but I'm sure that wouldn't be too good for my health! LOL I've lived in Texas for years and this food is definitely in my top 5 places I've had. If y'all want great BBQ com

The food was delicious! ❤️ And the employees were nice. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich and salad with my mom & my dear friend. The only thing that they need to update is the map of the location. Although the employee said that they already reported it. Anyhow, the restaurant is in between Anthem nails and Wild hair salon in front of Chase. Enjoy!
