The most popular and most visited place around French Quarter area. Better have a reservation else will have to wait up-to an hour. The restaurant is relatively clean, service is good, and they have their own online reservation system. The menu is decent with lots of drinks options. I tried the famous ocean grilled oyster. I found oysters relatively smaller than its shell, and it was too much sauce on top of it. I also got to try the blackened bayou duck. Its a huge half duck. Cooked pretty nicely, soft and tender. But the side dishes with it are mehhh! The blackened flounder was similar too. Cooked nicely with catfish, but catfish were not so good. Their famous hurricane rum drink was also okay. Mostly sweet lemonade with rum in it. Their was no real special taste or look to it. Being from Northeast, I prefer sticking to home style then Louisiana seafood style.
Loved their food and drinks. We stood in line for about 30mins to get into this place on a Saturday evening and it was definitely worth it. The sauce on the crab cake was our favorite. The oysters were outstanding and show why NOLA is known for it. The Po boy was a bit dry but the chicken was super flavorful and juicy. We really enjoyed the drinks as well.
Excellent service and delicious food. We had the blackened fish with mashed potatoes and greens and also the blackened po-boy chicken sandwich and everything was superb. The drinks were really good too. The staff were so nice and super friendly. Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu.
