At Brennan's in New Orleans, Louisiana, you must start with the Turtle Soup, a savory classic with an egg lemon sherry, only to later dive into their main dish of Pecan Crusted Gulf Fish, a unique blend of crushed pecans, French beans, and popcorn rice. Their side dish of Crispy Louisiana Oysters is a delightful taste of the sea. Spending several hours savoring an exquisite dinner in this historic restaurant is well worth it. Everyone raved about both the Turtle Soup and the Gumbo. The Smoked Scallops were a revelation - a nuanced hickory flavor without the heaviness of a bacon wrap. The Pork Tenderloin was perfect (barely medium rare) with a similar subtle smoky flavor. Hawaiian-style rolls are perfect for sopping up extra sauce. Of course, we had to have Bananas Foster, often imitated but the Brennan’s version is a flavor bomb that leaves you smiling.
To start off, this restaurant is gorgeous! The atmosphere is intimate yet lively and all of the staff is friendly, thoughtful, and inviting. My husband and I went there for brunch with no reservation and we had such a wonderful experience that we ended up making reservations for dinner for that same day! Dinner was absolutely phenomenal, I had the Trout Blangé and my husband had the Rabbitt Kottwitz and both were incredibly delicious. Flavors like we've never tasted before and a great taste of New Orleans cuisine. Our server Terry was incredible, top tier service, she was friendly, very knowledgeable, and had great recommendations and insight on the food and wine. I also have very complicated soy allergy and she was able to accommodate and recommend plenty of food that was safe for me. If you have a soy allergy this is a great place because most of the menu is soy-free friendly. Terry also made our table side strawberry crepes for dessert and they tasted incredible. Overall amazing din
Love this place! We make sure to visit whenever we visit New Orleans. This time around we were celebrating my mom's 81st birthday and she had a great time! Thank you for making her birthday special.
