Mandina's is a NOLA classic. Choose from seafood, creole and Italian masterpieces. Great service and great food!
The pros of Mandina's are the bread, enormous portions, and the historical family restaurant atmosphere. However, I found the prices elevated beyond the quality of the food and the service was indifferent. We walk in and are told to "sit anywhere". We approach a table and are asked by a different employee to please sit elsewhere. Okay... which is it? Seat yourself or wait to be seated? Our server couldn't care less to suggest recommendations on the menu or explain any of the dishes. The food came in enormous quantity, but it was fairly bland (with the exception of the "crab fingers" appetizer which was the highlight of the meal).
Mandina’s. The name says it all but my personal experience was more than 5 stars. Upon entering this beautiful, home like place you are greeted promptly and placed on the waiting list (Good food to those who wait). Get yourself a comfortable IPA, or a face shattering Campari Spritz. Come prepared to eat, the portions are meant for the NO Saints football team. Words do not express properly what goes on, your own personal experience is needed for a complete story. Enjoy.
