The sandwich, which was invented by Jerry Thomas, consisted of slices of raw steak, salt, pepper, and Oyster dressing on a toasted bun. The sandwiches took off in popularity, and by 1924 there were nearly 1000 steak sandwich shops in the United States.

I grew up on cheesesteaks and the chicken Philly at Trilly’s is truly supreme! Great fries as well with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages! Great for a quick bite before going out or catering for an event like a sports event! My fave sandwich in the city!
I hate to give a place a bad review but truly this was the worst Philly Cheesesteak. It was super salty, like I can’t take more than one bite salty and the French Fries tasted off with a really bad aftertaste, as if they had been fried in dirty oil. On the positive, the server was super nice and the patio was beautiful. We discreetly threw our food in the trash can on the deck and took our disappointed selves back to our hostel. Perhaps I just hit up these guys on an off day?
Absolutely wow. This place blew me away. I'm vegan and I've been craving a good Philly cheese steak for awhile and this really hit the spot. I'm not from the area, but I would eat at this place every week if I could. If you're a vegan or not vegan you have to go here! Vegetarian options: Vegan options present
