I was very excited to visit this place. It was fine. It did not live up to my expectations based on the Google review hype. Pros: - good service, constantly checking in and quick to refill drinks. - great chocolate mousse dessert. - endive salad was nice, nice mix of cheese/apple/endive. Cons: - no bread and butter. Quite odd for a french restaurant. - the "socca" was not traditional at all. Traditional socca from the south of France is crispy. This was a soggy crepe. - the steak frites were supposed to be in a pepper sauce. This wasn't that, it had a strong flavor of offal and lacked that traditional black pepper flavor. Generally just a bit of a miss. A french restaurant trying to stretch beyond the traditional and missing the mark.
If I lived here, I would be here everyday! Evan, the bartender is so knowledgeable and dare to say the best bartender in town. His craft cocktails are tops and the food is excellent! It’s a must while in Charleston!
Went for our anniversary. Fantastic service. Escargot, flounder & the rabbit were phenomenal. Will come back to try their burgers on Wednesday.
