Kyma

This was our first visit to Kyma, upon recommendation from a friend. Even arriving at opening on a Tuesday without reservations, we were seated at one of the bar tables. Ambiance was nice, and you get the view of the hanging glass pieces in open air. The service and presentation were nice but perhaps not worth the price point, considering that the quality of food was hit or miss. We got a cocktail, three apps, and an entrée to share between two for $140 at the end. Hit: Good cocktails and service. The humus/dips were amazing, especially the melitzanosalata (eggplant dip). Octopus-mini was possibly the best grilled octopus that I ever had. Quality olive oil used in all dishes. Love the glass/ceramic décor-- especially the broken plate mosaic. Miss: The pita was beautifully cut and toasted; however, it was greasy to touch and very heavy. My husband & I were visiting from NY & saw that this looked like a sophisticated Greek Restaurant & wanted to give it a try. We were not disappointed!! As we wanted to share a variety of appetizers, we were seated at a table in the bar area. Romantic & relaxing vibe & beautiful candles everywhere. Daniel was our Bartender/Server. He not only attended to us, but took care of a full bar single-handedly. He was excellent & attentive & knowledgable; giving us great recommendations. We enjoyed all of our food choices & the Cocktails were top- notched. We hope to return!!

This is sucha a fancy place. Loved the experience, it felt like you were in the restaurant in some other country, just the ambience itself. Cocktails was good and food was amazing. I would definitely keep this place for a special occasion. Definitely high end, once in awhile place.
