Red Pepper Taqueria

Horrible experience. Went in during a slow period, servers and bartenders were standing around, however it took awhile to be greeted. Was placed at a sticky table that needed cleaning. Food was okay but not nearly as good as the Lavista location. Drink was watered down, ordered a shot and received a shot glass that was 30% full? Four people behind the bar chilling and it took too long for drinks. The guy next to me left before receiving his food and drink due to the employees lack of concern or attentiveness. Lastly, gave my server my card to settle the check. He returned with two credit card receipts, but no itemized receipt! The total was a bit higher than I anticipated so I asked for the itemized check. He took it upon himself to add gratuity to my check and didn’t mention it. Very deceiving due to the fact that before I received the check I tipped him well. I was completely disgusted by this, so I removed the additional tip. Will call to ensure that he closed my check out accuratel

At it’s best, gentrified Mexican food tastes okay. This doesn’t even get there. You’ll leave wondering who’s idea it was to offer a barbecue taco. The rice was inedible. You can do better for way less $.

Food was great!, service not so much. I am in the bizz so I understand more than most but We saw are server 2 times are entire meal. That would have been fine until I was hit with 18 percent gratuities. I had it removed and left 5 on the table. Maybe just not a place for me, I tip and tip well, never have to be told to leave one. ???? However as a consumer, I want to see my server more that 2 times.
