Kue'd Smokehouse

Service 4 stars. Staff and owners very nice and helpful and sauces spot on. Food 3 stars (sorry not sorry) - nachos, 2 meat (burnt ends & sausage) w its 2 sides (beans & hashbrown casserole), and brown sugar peach cobbler. We are huge KC BBQ enthusiasts (maybe a bit biased since my husband is from KC). So far 2 places in IA have come close to awesomeness with flavor and portions. Kue'd is not one of them. Food was luke warm or a tad bit on the bland side. Everyone has different tastes but if you are a true TX, KC, or Carolina BBQ fan you may think the same. No snap to the sausage, burnt ends tasted like a good pot roast but not like burnt ends I'm used to. To much cold corn and not enough pulled pork on the nachos. Sides were OK. Beans a little on the spicy side vs sweet and savory (smoke flavored). Happy they are doing well just not our preference in BBQ.

By-far the best BBQ place I’ve ever had. Almost every vacation spot I go every year I get some sort of BBQ, and I have yet to find a place I enjoy more than this. I visit at least once a week. Their sliced pork is tender enough to pull apart with a fork and flavorful enough to eat with no sauce. Their Mac n cheese is SO GOOD. And I get it all for under 10 dollars?! Top notch food and amazing staff, I’ve yet to have a bad experience here and you have to try this place if you haven’t yet.

What a GEM right in Waukee! Kue’d BBQ is consistently amazing and their brisket is the BEST! Highly recommend two meats and two sides!
