We've hit 18 out of Texas Monthly's top 50, and Hutchins is way way up there. Brisket was melt in your mouth, sausage was great, and chicken was outstanding! Ribs were tender, turkey was good and the Texas Twinkies were terrific! Potato salad was the best I've had so far. Okra was really really good - crispy, hot, and just salty enough to give it real flavor. Mac and cheese was smoky with bacon scattered in. And free banana pudding for dining in. How can you beat that?
We've heard about Hutchins for years but have never tried it. Tonight we saw a pop-up ad on YouTube about Hutchins that looked so damn good and we decided to give it a try. The smoky grill smell was everywhere as we entered this pit and it is very stimulating and enticing. We ordered 1 pound pork ribs, a slice of brisket, 1 link of sausage and two Twinkies for $69 which was quite pricey but considering all the other sides are free and delicious then it's a fair deal! This would be one of the best real Texas barbecues in town. Highly recommended to all!
Absolutely love coming here. So glad it re opened. Parking is biggest struggle but the food makes it worth it. Food is so good that we even will order catering to our dealership. Personally I love there brisket and green beans. The green beans remind me of my grandmas cooking. What ever you do make sure you buy a Texas twinky. I don’t want to ruin the surprise but it’s worth every penny. I typically take it home with me and if I’m not careful my wife will steal it.
