Hickory Tavern

Tonight was my second experience at Hickory Tavern. My first time was several years ago and I got drinks upstairs, all was well. We went tonight after tubing and we were pretty disappointed. My food was good but the portions are not very grand. One of my drinks was wrong (our server did go to correct it!) and a few of my party's orders were messed up too. My bill, for two drinks and a meal, was $35 before tip and it just seemed a little ridiculous for the product. We went because a friend of mine had a craving and he was let down as well. The venue is cool and the food can be good but it's a gamble everytime. I'm not willing to pay for 5 stars when that's not near what I'm getting... I hate to see a business not doing well in Columbia and I hope to see improvements but for now, Hickory Tavern is "Eh."

The Charleston Burger was outstanding. The combination of the bacon, vinaigrette, and goat cheese created a magnificent burger. The homemade chips are dusted with an Old Bay spice & were yummy.

This place was not good at all and my fries was cold and my drink came back wrong and last but not least the waitress acted like she couldn’t hear me or even want to serve me her name is cat or ???? kat I asked for napkins and never got them the place was not busy it was Sunday 8 pm August 13 2023 I’m writing this as I sit in the place the burger was a 2 the fries was a 0.1 Second time drink came back with a bunch of salt at the bottom it would’ve been better going to Applebee’s or McDonald’s
