Boku Kitchen and Saloon

My husband and I visited Boku Kitchen and Saloon today and it was fantastic! The food and drinks were excellent and our bartender was so accommodating, friendly, and attentive. If you enjoy spicy cocktails I would highly recommend the Red Akuma. Also, the tempura baby corn and the Hong Kong ribs are a must have! It was our first time going and we will definitely be going back.

This place has potential. Great decors, cool music & vibe, great service, & a well designed menu. Appetizers were decent; calamari was as expected, but the dipping sauce tasted like mayo- need some heat or sweet; slaw on the bao buns & bun itself were good, but the pork needed a bit more taste. The ahi tuna poke was excellent, balance, fresh, and full of flavors. Unfortunately the 2 noodle soup broths lacked complexity, very bland; broths were also not hot (temp) enough - you don’t want to eat raw bean sprout in a broth. The pho broth needs spices. The tea egg in the ramen was very salty, probably stewed in soy sauce - need to add some sugar (mirin) & black tea. Ramen pork needs to be sliced instead of chopped.

I couldn't wait for this place to open and wasn't disappointed. They have a lot of new and learning staff but the service was great even so. Love the atmosphere & the food is great! The drinks are even better! The "Hello Dolly", which was recommended was DELICIOUS! I cannot wait to go back!
