Absolutely the best Greek food around! We had a great waiter named Tony, really nice guy and very attentive! The saganaki, octopus and moussaka were really delicious! Features: No COVID policies anymore except the staff all still had to wear masks which I found ridiculous when the waiting area was shoulder to shoulder packed with people and no masks. They are the ones working let them have a choice.
I would give 11 stars even on a 5 star rating. I’ve been going to the Greek islands restaurant for over 20 years and it’s always fantastic, always has been. If you like Greek food and haven’t been here then you haven’t had the best Greek food in Chicago. Get the saganaki, the flaming cheese, it’s a must. I usually order a whole assortment of appetizers to go with the fresh bread and olive oil that’s complimentary. I’ve had several things on the menu but the gyro and calamari are always solid choices. When it comes to the side order the potato and don’t think twice about it.
My girlfriend took me out for my birthday and I was craving some delicious saganaki cheese so I've decided to head over to Greek Islands and boy it was sooooo good! We had our flaming saganaki cheese of course over some delicious bread and butter. I ordered the grilled calamari which came with one Greek potato and rice with red sauce. I also had a glass of wine. Everything was delicious as always and service was amazing. Ivan our server was wonderful. Everything is delicious as always and my go to place for some authentic Greek food!
