I was really looking forward to eating here and hoping it would be a great sushi spot I could count on for future dining options. It was disappointing, period. Between trying to get through to the restaurant, the service and the food quality, this was “okay” at best. The majority of their roll choices had shrimp tempura as the main meat. I do love shrimp tempura, but was looking for better variety than what they offered. Any other meat such as tuna or salmon in the rolls was extremely minimal. Way too much rice is used in all the rolls, and too much cream cheese was used in one of the rolls we ordered. I also got salmon nigiri and it was just ok, not the bright, fatty, melting fresh caught salmon. I would not be surprised if it was farm raised. The Fireman roll seemed promising, but the presentation was odd. It comes out on a flaming tray, similar to fajitas. It’s wrapped in foil so you have to carefully open it to find a disappointingly made roll. The fish on top was slimy. The
Some friends and I met up here for a lunch on a day they were having a special on rolls. From the outside, you’d think that it’s a small, hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurant with how the small entrance is built. When you walk in, you’re immediately entranced by the large restaurant and the bustling room. The service quickly greeted us, and took us to our table. Noticing we were a bit snug with the table next to us, they immediately asked if we’d like to move to a big booth table. Their attention and service was wonderful the entire time there, and their manager was a very sweet lady who came and asked us how we enjoyed our time there. The food was excellent, and even if we paid full price it would’ve been well worth it because you certainly get what you pay for there. We also ordered two bottles Soju that tasted great! Overall, this place was a truly great restaurant and I’d happily recommend it to anyone who liked sushi especially.
We enjoyed our dinner at Fujiyama in Colorado Springs. The presentation was delightful and the staff was very attentive. We decided to try a broad array of items: 2 different kinds of sashimi, 2 different rolls and the udon soup. Each was splendid in it’s own right. Fairly priced and centrally located, we will continue to visit on subsequent visits.
