Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails

While staying at the resort we had dinner here two nights in a row. Both nights our food was delicious and the service was great! The first night I had one of their summer salads with goat cheese and strawberries, and the second night I had the New York Steak cooked medium rare - they were delicious. We ordered the Gold Bar for dessert both nights - chocolate, peanut butter, gold leaf... so delicious. The restaurant overlooks the pool, grounds, and incredible mountains. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful location.

For being an upscale restaurant you would expect them to have misters and a canopy on the patio but sadly no. The wind caused parts of the trees to fall in your plate as you were eating. The food is lack luster. The arugula salad was extremely overdressed and underwhelming. The Salmon was overcooked and under seasoned. Overall not great. Apparently the location is all that they have going for them. Parking: Parking is down the hill or valet

The service started out with a bottle of wine gone bad and a server that was clueless. Then Joey came and corrected the wine with a new bottle and proper wine glasses. The food was very good and rest of the meal was enjoyable.
