El Arriero Restaurante Mexicano

The food was solid, but nothing special. The restaurant feels clean and has an inviting atmosphere. The service was great, they are quick to bring and refill complementary chips and salsa. The margaritas are huge fishbowl style. I got the skinny margarita and it was bad, really sweet with hardly any tequila. I would go back but I wouldn’t get a marg again. Good option for Mexican food in Grand Rapids.

It's a huge place and there were lots a big groups, so of you got a whole crew to feed this place is a viable choice. It's in a strip mall with lots of parking. Food was passable, but nothing special and nothing to write home about. Complimentary chips were a bit stale. Prices were fair. The drinks were better than the food. Overall pretty mediocre experience, but it's not wasted money to come here. If you want Americanized Mexican food and a fishbowl's worth of margaritas, there's worse choices you can make.

Food was like warm, and the container didn't seal, so it spilled all over when opening it. Ordered the steak ranchero and the steak was pure gristle, fat and grease, completely submerged in what I can only describe as little Caesars marina. 10/10 would have preferred taco bell over this slop.. could have saved the $25.
