Egg Harbor Cafe

This is one of my favorite breakfast places. On my most recent visit, I ordered the ultimate skillet and one of their current specials, lemon ricotta french toast. The skillet was delicious and the English muffin and house made jam that it comes with equally scrumptious. Truly, I wish I could have that muffin and jam every morning. The french toast was pretty good but I kinda thought it would be better than it was. Service is great and I recommend you join the online wait-list before you reach the restaurant because there is ALWAYS a wait since it is a well loved place. They turn tables over very quickly so the wait isn't long.

Our party of 6 was seated immediately upon arrival on Thursday morning around 10:45AM. They have both indoor and outdoor options, but with the summer heat creeping into the morning, we opted to sit indoors w the AC. We were given water but one of the cups had clear lipstick marks on the rim and another smelled vaguely of milk — so we weren’t super stoked about their cleanliness. However, the service was great and food came out quickly (less than 10 minutes!). I got the Joe’s Healthy Scrambler and it was a good size portion with a GREAT cheese pull from the mozzarella. My friend who showed us Egg Harbor (he’s a borne and raised Barrington native), said that the potatoes used to be better. Overall, a nice and quaint breakfast place but nothing to call home about.
