This was our first visit and we were not super excited by the initial greeting when we entered " How many". Our party was sat, the place had about 4 tables when we came in. I noticed 4 staff members in the front of the house. No clue how many were in the back. So, from the start I thought I made a mistake. The server took our order and drinks. We had to ask for silverware and straws for our drinks, again not holding hope that this was going to be great. Pricing for food was a bit higher for comfort food. So I'm thinking this is going to be bad... Nothing was further from this. The corn bread and biscuits came out and they were fresh and warm, the apps came out very timely and they were great. The food was amazing. I think the day was just off on the front of the house but the kitchen made up for everything. I do hope that this was an off day for the server staff. Amazing food!! Really big portions . Really good food. Not a complaint about anything. The atmosphere was nice, friendly. The porch was breezy with rocking chairs. I just love this place. Anytime I am in Dallas, I will make sure I head to The Colony to this restaurant.
