Demetrio's Restaurant & Pizza

My wife got the spaghetti and meatballs, there was not much meat sauce in it, the portion size was big, but literally there was only two tablespoon full of sauce on it. The pizza was ok, not great, one of the pieces of pizza didn't have any cheese on it. We were hoping for a better experience, service was ok, atmosphere was excellent. I would rather see an Italian restaurant specialize in Italian food and not try and make Greek food. Price was decent, but the food quality was not great.

**Welcome to this review** This restaurant has been a staple in Sarasota for at least 40 years. The atmosphere is very casual and clean. The owners / hosts are super friendly and very cordial. The staff is very fast and knows the menu cold. I especially like the lunch specials where you can get a salad, pizza and a drink for a reasonable price. The one main thing is if you don't eat lunch or dinner there, you have to try the desserts. The amaretto ice cream truffle ball is ridiculous. One of the best desserts in town for a family friendly restaurant. Thanks for reading this.

Greek salad was good as usual but the 8" pizza was a bit soggy. Was really disappointed with that. Was surprised $3.50 for a glass of tea??
