Carolina's Mexican Food Avondale

We ate at the downtown and Peoria locations for years and were excited when this location opened, much closer to home. The dining room is enormous (which apparently makes it a great place to store upside-down tables and chairs) and the glass walls that allow you to see into the kitchen are pretty cool. We have eaten at this location at least a dozen times - but not lately because we have jobs with normal work hours; this location now has a closing time of 6:00PM - even on Friday and Saturday - and we just can't get there before they close on most days. We went to the Peoria location last week because we wanted Carolina's food on our date night but I didn't get home from work until after 6:00. Service is hit or miss - sometimes the person at the counter is friendly and sometimes not so much. It is ALWAYS slow. It takes a long time to get the food, and once we waited over an hour and when I went to the counter and asked about it, she asked the cooks something in Spanish and then sai

I always order online to go and the food is always above my expectations, however, the same woman seems to be at the pick up window and each time she seems a bit annoyed and has forgotten items in my order the 3 times I've ordered from there. Its unfortunate that I could not give 5 stars for each category because of 1 persons facial expression and no attention to detail for completion of orders. Always delicious otherwise.

One of the best places you can visit for a well known Mexican food experience. Their taste is more flavorful and served fresh. The kitchen is wide open and viewable from the dinning area. My favorite is their fluates and tamales. They are also well known for their red burritos. The owner of this location is often seen on site and is a friendly loving owner. They also have a drink counter that blows away many food restaurants within the area. I am very fortunate to have met the owner and appreaciate her for opening a location in Avondale.
