Located in the stunning Santa Monica Proper Hotel - the design of this place is just amazing. Went for lunch and ordered appetizers to share and individual entrees. I recommend the spreads and the burger. Portions are pretty small and prices are high. Service was slow but friendly. Views are spectacular. Would definitely come back to have a drink at the bar and watch the sunset.

Calabra is a super cute rooftop spot located in The Proper Hotel. It’s decorated with an abundance of plants and wood finishes that make this patio is modern, inviting and trendy. They play a great mix of music to keep the energy upbeat. The drinks were delicious. For drinks, we had the Sandia Punch and the AmeriCabo. Both were light & delicious. To eat, we ordered the hummus which had a nice smoked flavor from the paprika oil. It was served with soft, warm seasoned naan. We also had the chicken kebabs which had a nice char on the outside and were tender, juicy and flavorful. The mustard dipping sauce was a perfect pairing. This is a great place to enjoy brunch or dinner with a view.

The restaurant is located at the top floor of the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, a boutique luxury hotel. The decor is in the hotel looks nice. Once you get to the hotel, you can tell the front desk you are going to the restaurant and they will swipe you into the elevator. We came here for a weekend brunch and enjoyed the food and ambiance here. I recommend the egg white frittata. You can view the Santa Monica skyline from the patio. Street parking is available nearby.
