Start with the atmosphere, amazing. Fun, nostalgic, somewhat magical feeling. Everyone who worked there was wonderful. Walking into the kitchen through the garage was interesting, but rather cool. Our waitress was a pure delight. We started with the buca triple appetizer, fri d calamari, fried mozzarella and spicy shrimp. Then our salad, there was enough salad to feed a fleet of folks. My daughter exclaimed it was the best salad she had eaten. I will agree it was good! Then arrived the spaghetti and meatballs. Holy cow!! Best I have eaten, and I have eaten a ton of pasta!! I highly recommend it to anyone. The family style service was excellent!!
Was in for my birthday last night where I used to celebrate here all the time. Haven’t been here in 8 years. Our server Danny was different. He spoke down on the restaurant and made excuses all around. Told us we couldn’t have more than 3 loves of bread per 4 in a party. There were 9 of us. So strange. We all just laughed it off. Ordering I asked Danny what he would pick out of the 2 options i chose. He literally said neither one I used to work at an another Italian spot Vs and their food is way better. His opinion I didn’t want anymore and just chose my choice. It was my birthday. I was the last to get my beer, 15min and my food. Never asked if i wanted another one after it came. All the food came out 1 or 2 at a time and i had only taken a couple bites out of my entree and he was bringing the dessert. So i pushed my meal aside to have dessert. Danny is not a birthday vibe.
Bring your appetite cause those portions are nuts!! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was perfect. I had great customer service with the perfect balance to attentive and allowing us to enjoy our experience. It IS loud both in sight and sound....so if you're prone to sensory overload you might opt for carry out.
