Brown Butter Creperie and Cafe

Super cute place, we were the last patrons in the door before they had to close early that day due to staffing issues. Be sure to call before you go to make sure they are open, we drove 45 min to check it out so thankfully we made the cut. It was sooooo worth it! The ambiance is adorable, the crepes are divine. I completely finished every bite of mine.

Don’t be turned off by the old building that houses this diamond in the rough. Great crepes are hard to find in Michigan, and this Grand Rapids Creperie is attempting to close the gap. The strawberry vanilla French soda at Brown Butter Creperie is excellent, just like the drip and espresso drinks. The three crepes pictured in this review are wonderful too. Recommendations for the restaurant: Make the batter crunchier for the blueberry/goat cheese to keep its consistency to the last bite. Serve the whipped cream as a side to keep the consistency of the crepes. Make the whipped cream thicker. The lemon compote is overwhelming at times. Tone down the flavor profile by adding a few strawberries to the dish. See you soon!

Alright.. initial impression of this place upon entering the front door was nice. Cute exterior, decent interior design. Looked busy but not overwhelmingly busy. We placed our order to go but said we'd like to sit as we had a party of 7 if possible. They waitlisted for a table which again was fine. Saw a table big enough for us open and we sat down, they then told us we can't sit there as there are two on the wait-list in front of us and they then asked us to leave the building because we were crowding the guests who were eating.. even though there were other guests standing and waiting for food/table. We went next door to the awesome Italian shop and waited a bit. My friends then said we had been seated at the table we weren't allowed to sit at before so I came back and we waited in total over an hour for our food. The crepe was really good, the side salad was literally just spinach tossed with an olive oil and vinegar - very little flavor, spinach had wilted a bit by the time our foo
