BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

We had a group of 21 -- a reservation I added to twice between making it and our arrival -- and everyone was so gracious and accommodating! I know the number of separate checks we had was a pain, so I'm very grateful they were willing to take us. Amber was our server, and she did an amazing job! She kept us organized so everything could go smoothly and was patient and friendly the whole time. She even made sure we got a special pizookie for our guests, who were celebrating their anniversary. (Edit: I can tell, by the responses the owner/manager is giving, why some of the wait staff has the idgaf attitude. Just know that you might have a great server and up to usual par food, or you might have a one star experience.) I've reviewed my experiences at the Carlsbad restaurant, but not the one in Escondido. My friend and I stop here frequently during happy hour. The service is either great or fair, depending on who is serving. Obviously I am generally pleased with my experience here or I wouldn't keep coming back. Maybe because I come here often, it's inevitable that I have a less than ok experience. We sat down at a booth that had not been cleared after the previous customer, as it was the only one available and we didn't want a table. We waited at least 10 minutes for someone to come and clear off the table. I get that things can be busy, but 10 minutes? Our server knew we were sitting there waiting. She offered no explanation as to why it took that long, nor did she offer any

I ordered the filet. It was a 30 $ dish. I ordered it med well. They brought out a cut down New York strip. They didn’t know that my husband is a butcher. I found this to be very dishonest. Just because you don’t like how I order meat doesn’t mean you can down right lie. The server was nice and after waiting for 1.5 hours for the new York strip they said was a filet and I told the waitress it took almost a second hour to get the replacement. Which was a filet but everyone else was done eating and then had to wait on me.
