All I can really say is, WOW! We came to Awaze for the first time, and they absolutely blew us away. I have had Ethiopian food before (about 20 years ago), but this was even better than I remembered. My friend spent some time in Ethiopia, and had been wanting to find a local place, so we decided to bring our husbands for their first experience. They were surprised by the lack of utensils, but quickly adjusted when we explained some of the culture and traditions. We ordered the meat platter (the kay wot and beef alecha were phenomenal), the veggie platter (loved the tikil gomen, misir azifa, and gomen), Awaze Tibs (lamb) with Injera. Although my husband would have probably preferred the pita, I absolutely loved the rich flavor and texture, definitely fresh and homemade! My 1 year old even enjoyed feeding me, as is another Ethiopian tradition of love and respect. Will absolutely be coming again!

We had a delicious Ethiopian platter. We mixed the meat sampler platter with the vegetarian platter when we ordered and shared it together. Afterwards we tried the fine traditional cafe, which tastes really special and good. Staff was extremely friendly and kind!! It was our first, but not last visit ☺️

Staff is fantastic. Cozy and ambient. The food though is a disappointment. We ordered a salad, hoping that it will be traditional tomato salad. Instead, we were given a veggie medley with a generic vinegar dressing. The lentils (azifa) were just cooked with no spices and no flavour, although we talked to the gentleman and explained that we like spicy. No utensils. In addition, our order took good 30 minutes to wait (we have ordered a take out). Not recommended.
