I took my son to a classic seafood joint that I know he would love (he is a 14 year old seafood junky). It was the last place I ever enjoyed a meal with my dear old Uncle Woody. The walleye sandwich was hot and looked lovely. It was a little underdressed (lettuce only) and came with 1 oz. Of tartar sauce which was definitely not enough. My son and I came in dressed slightly more casually then the rest of the patrons. Because of this it appeared to me that the three waitresses on staff argued amongst themselves over who had to suffer the indignity of serving the apparently, "near homeless people." I still tipped 18%. The onion rings were tasty as was the cup of New England clam chowder. The decor is the same as when I visited as a teenage (am 50 now) which is to say ultra dated and the free standing chairs were less comfortable than sitting on a stump. I will be back but I hope for better.
We dined with family to celebrate an anniversary. We enjoyed the fried zucchini, crab legs, shrimp scampi, grilled shrimp, and the perch. The food was first rate, service was friendly (even humorous) and the ambiance was fitting of fine dining on a peer or worf. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed our meals and a good time was had by all.
Came up to Windward Passage tonight after reading some reviews online. I will tell you it was 100% worth the 45 minute drive. We ate the Coquille St Jacques as an appetizer and it was THE BEST!!! Sorry I didn’t get a picture of that. My husband ordered the prime rib & crab legs and loved it! I ordered the filet and lobster tail which was also amazing!! Steaks were cooked perfectly. It is not a big place and they open at 4pm. We arrived at 530 and it was already packed. So we recommend getting there early if you don’t want to wait. The staff was outstanding. Our waitress Lori told us they have been open for 50 years!! They are cooking great food and serving people right. If you’re looking for a great seafood restaurant check out Windward Passage. You will not be disappointed!
