Waffle House

I have never been to a Waffle House & been told I HAD to dine in to get food. Apparently because it is the weekend, I could not order a bowl of grits to go. I have been to this establishment on busier days than today & have been served with no issues. I think this “policy” is foolish. You are basically saying you won’t serve me unless I sit in, which I was only stopping by before work now having to go another 15 mins just to get food. I hate to play this card but it definitely isn’t giving “All customers welcome.”

food was okay, service was half decent until a young group of 4 black people came in and we overheard the staff (all white) gossiping amongst themselves regarding the group and caught the staff making very judgmental eye contact. their racism was NOT subtle. the group was patiently waiting to be seated for over 20 minutes, while 2 (once again, white) parties that came in AFTER them were seated. the person with me caught onto most of this as i was facing away from customers and not paying attention to staff. i thought i was just overthinking but he confirmed my suspicion when we left. he heard it was one of their birthdays, and he made sure to tell the young man happy birthday and give him a fist bump. and they ended up leaving after only getting drinks to go... i've never left a bad review before but this establishment deserves it. please don't support this business. the group shouldn't have been alienated for simply wanting to have dinner with their friend for his birthday. i know thi

I hate to do this cause I love Waffle House, but I get there last night and the first problem was I waited 15 min before asking them for help. Now I totally get it cause I used to be a server so I brushed it off. Put my to go order in which was the angus burger meal with double hash browns , then get home and it’s the Texas toast with cheese, bacon and no burger patty with eggs, I’m allergic to eggs. I’m just really disappointed.
