Velvet Taco

Came here expected some good tacos from the reviews but it was very disappointing. I would say this is more of an American taco fusion. If you are okay with that and not expecting authentic Mexican tacos then you might like it. Some misses were that they used flour tortillas instead of corn and the flavors although inventive def missed the mark in flavor. I think this is more of a college taco spot as the prices are affordable and the portions are big. Interesting taco concepts but would not come back especially with some much great taco options in Austin.

Velvet Taco serves delicious food in an energetic urban atmosphere. Their tacos combine traditional and fusion flavors. The wide range of taste they offer makes us want to come back to try them all. The portions were generous and the price was reasonable. The place was packed with office people coming for lunch but the service was quick and smooth. With excellent food and vibe, we are happy to recommend this place.

Great concept! It’s definitely an unusual taco place with variety of options. The elotes and chips were amazing, definitely a nice combination. I was really exited about the chicken and waffle taco but unfortunately they didn’t had the waffle available so they gave me a flour tortilla instead but it was great! We had a lot of other flavors and they were all great. Definitely a good place to visit, the line might be a little long depending on the time and day, but it’s so worth it.
