Urban Soul Restaurant

I have 5 stars for service, because the lady behind the desk was very sweet even as they were about to close for the evening. The food was really good. I was greedy yesterday so I ordered the Beef short ribs-Amazing!! I had dressing, Mac and cheese, black eyed peas, and mashed potatoes. The only not thing( not negative) just my preference the mashed potatoes could've been more creamy. But again I went as they were closing. I will definitely give them another try earlier in the day. But those Black eyed peas, were the best thing!! Oh and I got the yummy carrot cake, best I've had this year yet!! I told you at the beginning I was greedy this day! This was the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. The ladies working there were super nice and got our food out pretty fast. The restaurant itself was big and felt really spacious. I went at a time of day where there were only 2 or 3 other groups there, so it was very peaceful and quiet. This was the perfect restaurant for me on my visit to Detroit from Tulsa, O.K.! Parking: Located in a strip mall so there was a large parking lot

The food was not what I'd expected. Greens were not cut properly Chicken was ok meatloaf my husband said was edible. Black eye peas too soupy Cornbread ok Mac and cheese needed a little browning I've had better personally and for the hour wait and mixed up on one of the side the price wasn't worth it in my opinion. Parking: It's in a Crowded strip mall so park at your own risk.
