Uptown Cantina

Wanted to eat at Texas de Brazil but they weren’t taking anymore reservations for the night so I saw this spot next door and decided to try it because it looked like a fun place and you can’t ever go wrong with Mexican food…. Boy was I WRONG. Throughout our entire experience the waitress was very dry. First off, ordered a water with lemon and they were out of lemons. We ordered the queso with ground beef and it tasted like we were eating chili. Ordered shrimp tacos and one carne asada taco. The shrimp were over cooked and absolutely disgusting. The carne asada was just okay. They forgot my side of beans (that came with the meal) I asked for them and the waitress said she would bring them but never did. My friend wanted to order a margarita but she said sorry we’re closed now (9:30pm, they closed at 10) but she did later come back and say it was last call, asked for a strawberry margarita but she said they were out of the mix (reading other reviews apparently they’ve been out of mix and

A great restaurant conveniently located in the Uptown area and Birmingham across from the Protective Stadium. Very affordable and great service. If you nearby you can't go wrong.

We had the veggie quesadillas! The smokey flavor was amazing. Best combination of veggies I've had!!
