Uncle Julio's Vernon Hills

First time here since 2019 due to the pandemic. 4 stars on our prior visits, loved the chocolate pinada. They were understaffed just like everyone else. Our server was very nice and did their best. The food was no where near as good compared to prior visits. My enchilada resembled the texture of hard cardboard and was cold. Guacmole was was the worst I’ve ever had, sent it back after a few bites. Hope they get it back together and find more help or they will be closing soon.

Two stars because it has no outdoor view to dine outside you have two choices a dirty parking lot or the construction site that is going on at the mall. When we were sited inside they put us on a corner where it was so boring that my partner said let’s just leave… I requested a different table and told us that they were reserved ( my girlfriend put a reservation 8 hrs in advanced and she was no given any choice) after all the drama they gave us a table by the bar no too bad. The food was delicious so were the margaritas. When we left about 1 and 1/2 hr later there were so many empty tables that make me wonder where were those people who had reserved those tables the denied us? I think they can do better with they way they treat customers who are no white because we do have other choices and I for one I’m never going back there.

The service here was excellent. The atmosphere was great. I have heard the fajitas are also excellent. However the tacos are not. They are at the level of a middle school cafeteria. Way too expensive for too low quality. This review should be a 3.5 star. Everything else was great, which makes this more frustrating to write.
