Twisted Taino Restaurant

Great food in a cute space with music playing in the background. We went for Mac and cheese week and both the birria and BBQ bowls were tasty!! I had chicken quesadillas while my friend had an el Cubano sandwich. The fries that came with the sandwich were also very good.

May 2022: This place has been on my radar for a while, but due to the construction on Pearl road and location, I was not able to easily find it during my first attempt. I ordered the picnic special (roasted chicken, street corn, and rice) for $12.99 USD, which was delicious. The "elote" or street corn on the cob stole the show for me. The chicken leg was prepared good and was very succulent with good flavor throughout. The rice was good and plentiful, but a tad dry. I also ordered the empanada trio at $8.99 USD--3 empanadas prepared to the customer's liking. Since it was my first time, I got the a variety, one beef and cheese, one plaintains and cheese, and one chicken empanada. The chicken empanada was my favorite out the bunch. I would like to try a steak or carne asada empanada someday. My family tried something new and it was great! Highly recommend for Mexican style food. Be patient for the food, it is worth the wait. Everything we had was seasoned and tasted amazing.
