The food was just alright to me, but the service was top notch. I had the bourbon-glazed meatloaf and it was a little overcooked. It was kind of tasteless and could have been seasoned more. My wife had the cast iron pork and it was overcooked as well. Not as bad as the meatloaf, just slightly better. The pork still had a good flavor to it. The sauce definitely saved this meal. My daughter loved her sweet and spicy glazed chicken. I didn't care for it too much. It was fried chicken drowned in a sweet & spicy sauce. The biscuits were dry, but the spread (real berries and butter) saved it. Lastly, the lemonade and pineapple mixed drinks were not sweet at all. Oh wait...the banana pudding needed cookies in it. It was mainly pudding with a few bananas and cookie crumbles lightly on top. Rating 3.5 stars.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon, thankfully we made a reservation bc it was BUSY. Food was good, but I learned very quickly that I am not a fan of Benedict style eggs. Chicken, biscuit, and potatoes were very tasty though. Drinks were good quality as well. Service was mediocre. Our waitress seemed to be doing every other task including servicing tables in the area, we had to flag her down several times to ask for more water and another round of drinks. All in all it was a good experience, and I may return, but I won’t go out of my way for it.
The place is aesthetically beautiful! The food was mediocre. We enjoyed the biscuits and drinks but not the rest of the food. The two groups of people sitting beside us felt the same. So maybe good for a happy hour place!
