Good old home cooking...& we are from Louisiana, so we know something about that! Even short staffed, food came out quickly, & wait staff was attentive. Fried Catfish plate was amazing!
Hole in the wall breakfast and lunch restaurant. Good selection, generous portions and pastries. Everything is made in house. Food wise you won't be disappointed. It is often quite busy and can have a significant line outside in the heat with no shade, so be prepared. Don't expect the friendliest service either. These servers seem frazzled and often overwhelmed. The service is diligent though, just not many smiles.
The food was bland, but the portions are great if you're a heavy eater. The wait staff was nice. This is more of a place that you visit for atmosphere and a unique experience. A lot of my family is from Virginia and the antiques kind of felt like home. Features: No social distancing. Very crowded. Many people do not wear masks.
