So I hadn’t been here since I was a little kid. Read the recent reviews and figured I’d give it a try anyway. I cannot believe all the complaining in some of these reviews…whining because its not all you can eat anymore? Dude if what they bring you out is not enough you need to go on a diet! Whining about it being over $20? Seriously? You get two entrees, half a dozen vegetables, bread, dessert and a drink. Its not 1975 anymore guys. Prices go up over time. This place was DELICIOUS! True Southern food. Much better than Cracker Barrel. The best part was the friendly Southern hospitality though!
I was very disappointed. I have been to this restaurant before and I did not know it has changed. I had a party of seven grown men. I was not informed that they no longer serve you food endlessly and only get one serving. I was very caught off guard and so were my brothers with me. We each paid $21.95 each for not even one full plate of food. After realizing that we were not being serve additional food, we just decided to leave. I spoke to the girl at the front desk and she informed me that since covid-19 they have changed their way they serve food. I think that you should inform customers who have been to your establishment prior to covid-19 that enjoy your food. I am very disappointed and will not waste my money at the Smith House again.
Way too costly for what you get now. 2 people, $21.95 each for lunch, 1 chicken breast each, dried up cold bread, 1 piece steak and gravy??, 4 very small bowls barely warm veggies, drinks with 0 refills unless you can flag someone down, and very dried frozen pound cake and frozen strawberries for dessert. Only 9 other tables filled, so not busy. Just a totally changed restaurant and we've been going for many many years. Last time.
